What does "BEST" mean? it is very subjective. Do you mean best quality?, A rare find maybe?, a record that bas been on the wanted list for a long time?
I've had records from crate diving that fit into each of those categories, but to me, the "Best Crate Diving Find" is something unexpected, that has been found in a £ / $ / € xx.xx for 3 / 5 / 10 bin. I regularly dive in these bins, looking for a forgotten gem, a new (to me) artist or something that just catches my eye.
This is a very hard category to name just one shop and to be honest with you, I couldn't. So below are my favourite stores to visit nationwide. Of course, I havnt managed to visit every Independant Record Store across the UK, let alone many in other parts of the world, so this list will no doubt change over time. As with every other list, it is not in any particular order.
Of course, I always recommend that you check out your local Independant Record Store, where ever you are in the country. But if you can't or there is no Independant Record Store locally to you, Discogs is full of independant record sellers, worldwide that will post records to you. I have used the Discogs marketplace many times, with extremely positive experiences, but take note of the feedback left for sellers.
I am often asked which record stores I wouldn't go back to, or don't recommend people visit. I always answer this question in the same way, "You shoudl make your own choices, What I don't like about a Record Store probably won't be the same as you."
I can't choose a "Favourite" record that I have in the Vinyl Vault, the reason being is that I am a very 'Moody' listener, by that I mean, dependant on my mood, that decides what I listen too. That said, if you read my Post | Apocalytic Playlist, that has a few of my Regular Listens.
